As your baby grows and your body changes, yoga provides an holistic framework to support you through this process. It also enhances a woman’s emotional, psychic and physical experience of pregnancy in preparation for motherhood. We teach specific postures, breathing, sound and sacred practices such as mantra (chanting), mudra (hand gestures), bandha, (pelvic floor exercises), dharana (focussed attention) and pratyahara (sense withdrawal), using gentle guided pregnancy related Yoga Nidra and beautifully designed meditations.
Practicing yoga during pregnancy is a wonderful experience, offering many benefits from increased stamina and strength to improved mood and energy.
We also run regular Birth Rehearsal Workshop’s for expectant couples during which we manage the issues of all the different stages of labor with respect and sensitivity to the emotional journey towards parenthood. We cover the the important role of the birthing partner and achieve a good balance between the theory and the practical experience of Yoga Therapy as a vital tool in the learning of the natural birthing process.
