Mandala Vinyasa Flow brings a more creative and intelligent style to the Yoga. They include balanced flows that circle half or all of the mat in a 180 or 360 degree pattern, where we come full circle, feeling as though we have been on quite a journey during the process.

Mixed level classes

These classes are mixed level. There is a ladder approach to sequencing; more difficult postures are included as the sequence evolves, culminating in the inclusion of an advanced posture. (Some experience of Vinyasa Flow Yoga is beneficial as the sequencing can be more difficult to follow, but it’s not essential we we offer beginners options for all postures.)

Different themes can be linked to the elements of  Earth, Fire, Water, Air and Ether to help focus the class on particular parts of the body, developing positive mood and energy and a deeper connection to the natural elements.

  • Air – Quads and backbends. Energetically activating Anahata Chakra, our heart centre, related to our social identity and self-love

  • Fire – Glutes and IT band, accessed through standing postures and twists. Energetically activating Manipura Chakra, our Solar Plexus, related to our sense of power and ego.

  • Water – Groins and hips. Energetically activating Svadisthana Chakra, the Sacral Chakra, our source of movement and connection, related to our reproductive system.

  • Earth – Hamstrings and forward bends. Activating Muladhara Chakra, the Root Chakra, for grounding and safety.
